The President of the Chamber, Mr. Tudor Afanasov, attended the diplomatic reception organized at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, alongside representatives of the diplomatic corps, business community, clergy, non-governmental organizations, and the Romanian-Russian community. He also took part in the solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Central Soviet Military Memorial in Bucharest, where, together with representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, other diplomatic missions, and local partners, he paid tribute to those who fell in the fight against fascism.
Members of the Chamber, as well as its partners and collaborators, also participated in the events organized in Bucharest, reaffirming the importance of preserving historical memory and honoring the sacrifice of all those who contributed to the liberation of Europe from fascism.
In the city of Constanța, the Chamber was represented by its cultural representative, the ADER Association, which participated in the commemorative activities and wreath-laying ceremonies dedicated to the heroes who fell on the battlefield. Special thanks are addressed to the ADER Association for its support in organizing the events in Constanța and for its involvement in delivering the commemorative message and laying wreaths in memory of those who fought for the liberation of Romania and Europe from fascism, including the soldiers of the anti-Hitler coalition, especially those of Romania and Russia.
Furthermore, on May 6, 2026, the Chamber was represented in the city of Budești, Călărași County, by Mr. Vlad Jipa, adviser to the President of the Chamber, Tudor Afanasov. He participated in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Soviet Heroes Cemetery, organized with the support of Mrs. Bica Nicoleta.

The speech highlighted that respect for the past represents the foundation of a stable future and that shared memory can serve as a basis for dialogue and understanding between peoples.
The Soviet cemetery in Budești is considered the largest Soviet military cemetery in Romania, where approximately 6,000 soldiers who fell during the Second World War in the fight against fascism are buried. Diplomats from the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Romanian and Russian citizens, representatives of the local community, and clergy who officiated memorial services for the fallen heroes attended the ceremony.
