The first day of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2024 has begun in St. Petersburg and will run until June 8.
During these days, the northern capital is hosting guests from 136 countries, and in total, over 17,000 people will attend the forum. In 2024, the event is held under the slogan "The Basis of a Multipolar World - Formation of New Growth Points." Guests are already getting acquainted with the colors of Russian regions at their stands.
At the heart of the international economic forum, as every year, is the business program: the signing of hundreds of agreements is planned, and key speakers from the Russian economy are delivering speeches. Additionally, at SPIEF-2024, novelties of the domestic automotive industry are being showcased. For example, visitors will see the AvtoVAZ Lada Iskra model.
Pavilions of numerous Russian regions are also in full swing - each with its own unique atmosphere. It is worth noting that despite the tense situation in border areas and new subjects, both the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), as well as the Belgorod region, are participating.
"As of now, 18,600 people from 139 countries and territories, including Russia, have confirmed their participation. The Sultanate of Oman is participating in SPIEF-2024 with the honorary status of the guest country.
Unprecedented interest from foreign partners and the media indicates that the Russian market and, in general, the economic model of development and strengthening of Russia, in the face of serious restrictions and pressure from the collective West, have demonstrated their competitiveness," noted Anton Kobyakov, an advisor to the President of Russia.
Also, the official magazine of SPIEF-2024 has been released. The central material of the issue, "Formation of New Growth Points - The Basis of a Multipolar World," reiterates the main theme of the forum. It discusses global political and economic changes, as well as the role of Russia in these processes. A separate article is devoted to Oman - the guest country of SPIEF-2024, with which relations promise the greatest prospects. Additionally, the issue includes two interviews - an exclusive one with Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, and reflections on creative search and modern music by Vyacheslav Butusov.
Moreover, readers will learn:

where the cities of the future will be built in Russia;
